Usain Bolt's Early Olympic Celebration

The Olympic 100 Meter final was memorable for a number of reasons, including a lot of hype, a world record, a gold medal for a 21 year old, and an early celebration that left a bad taste in the mouths of some.

Usain Bolt had memorable Sprint performances in the 200 meter final breaking Michael Johnson's 12 year-old world record, set when Bolt was only 12 years old. He and his Jamaican team mates also made history by winning Gold and setting a world record in the 4 x 100 meter relay. But it was his first Gold Medal/ World Record performance of the Beijing Summer Games that was perhaps the most talked about. This was because in a moment of youthful exuberance the 21 year old Usain Bolt not only crushed the field, but began a celebration with about 20 or 30 meters left to run. This video clip is a dramatic/comedic re-enactment of that historic event that will mark 2008 as the year that Bolt struck. The 29th Olympiad now has one more sports moment immortalized.
